LLEWELYN LANDSCAPING AND DESIGN, llc
Answer: Yes
Explanation: Yes, it is a good idea to spread grass seed after aeration. Aeration creates small holes in the soil, which provide an ideal environment for grass seeds to make direct contact with the soil and germinate more effectively. This process, known as overseeding, helps fill in bare spots, thicken your lawn, and improve its overall health. The combination of aeration and seeding allows for better seed-to-soil contact, increasing the chances of successful germination and establishing a stronger, more resilient lawn.

Newburgh Lawn & Landscape
Answer: Yes
Explanation: If your lawn looks thin in places it never hurts to overseed after aeration. Keep in mind if you are going to overseed, plan on having your yard aerated early in the season, so as to give the seed the maximum amount of time to germinate. You should also try to overseed the same day or within a day or so after your aeration while the holes are still open and before the cores start to break down. Just another reminder if you’re fertilizing along with overseeding, DO NOT use a fertilizer with weed control. If you do, your seed will not germinate properly. If you want to fertilize in conjunction with overseeding ( which is a good idea ), just use a starter fertilizer or one without any type of weed control.
Marcells Tree Service

Explanation: Depending on how your lawn looks if it looks healthy an heavy looking grass you do not need to spread grass seed.
CreekSide LawnCare LLC
ProMatcher
Answer: Yes
Explanation: Yes. Combining aeration with seeding and fertilization is an excellent idea. Aeration loosens up the soil, giving new plant roots "room to grow". Over-seeding in the late summer/early fall remains the optimum time for any over-seeding because you avoid the summer heat and drought and the new seedlings do not have to compete with spring germinating weeds---allowing the little seedlings to grow with the cool temperatures and then having the winter months to allow the seedlings to strengthen their roots and prepare for the hotter months to come. The lesser option for over-seeding is late winter / early spring, once again to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and moisture to allow the seedlings to take root. An application of fertilizer along with the heavy watering just after aeration and over-seeding will stimulate root growth. Spring and fall are the most optimal time to fertilize allowing the cooler temperatures and the moisture from the rain to penetrate the lawn over a long period of time allowing your lawn to take full advantage of the added nutrients. Frequent light watering for a few weeks after over-seeding will allow the seeds to develop into healthy turf grass. Deep watering every two or three days is recommended for most of the rest of the year allowing your lawn’s roots to grow deeper for increased strength during dry times.
